There is so much buzz around at the moment about the abundance of incredible online workshops available for this coming year that it can be a little overwhelming. Trying to decide what classes to take, especially when there are so many great ones out there, how do you decide where to invest your hard-earned $$$.
In my mind, one of the most beautiful programs, and by far the best value for money is "21 Secrets". This program, as I've mentioned before, offers 21 individual workshops by some of the art worlds most talented and generous teachers. It runs from April '12 to Jan '13 and is only $59 for the entire 21 workshops. I was so blessed when the beautiful Connie Hozvicka of Dirty Footprints Studio invited me to join the line of up of instructors for 2012. What an honor! Now Connie has poured forth her generosity once again by allowing me to giveaway one place on this amazing program.
If you'd like to go into the running for a spot on the program of the year, then all you have to do is click the link below, and then come back here and leave a comment, telling me which of the instructors teaching "21 Secrets" you'd be most excited to learn from. Of course you have more than one favorite, in fact once you read the line up of teachers, you'll probably be excited about all of them, but for now, just give me your top choices. Remember, if you win, you get all 21 workshops from all 21 teachers.
You've got until next weekend to enter. I'll be randomly drawing a winner on Sunday January 8th. Remember to leave an email address so I can contact you when you win. Only one entry per person please, however, if you'd like a second chance at winning, you can post about it on your blog, facebook, or twitter pages, directing people back through this post to enter. Please post a second comment telling me you've blogged, FB'd or tweeted about this giveaway. Remember, to be eligible, you must click the link below, then come back to this post to comment.
Dion Dior & More is giving away "21 Secrets"
My offering for this wonderful program is called "Wisdom Circles". Through story telling and self-guided visualization, participants will learn to embrace their deepest desires, and give life to them through the beautiful art of mandalas, infused with powerful and deeply personal symbols. We will learn to use twinkling color and depth as a way to layer our inner most secrets into the pages of our journals.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for checking in. xx

Wow, so hard to choose a favourite. I guess I'll say WORD PLAY with
ReplyDeleteChristine Mason Miller because I love to incorporate words and quotes into my journaling. However, they all sound wonderful and together they will really fill out my journalling skills and techniques!
My fingers are crossed~I sure hope I win!
Yikes. So many fabulous teachers and ideas. How to choose? Channel it Girl by Kelly Barton looks pretty fun to me! I would so love to win this! But who wouldn't?
ReplyDeleteWow, you're right! After reading each one I'm dying to take them all! If I have to choose one, though, the one to jump out at me the most was Alma Stoller's Child's Play Workshop.

ReplyDeleteOh my so many great ones! I would be most excited to take Jane Davenport's Draw Happy 2, Zom's Alternate Lives, your Wisdom Circles, Connie's Flow, but honestly all of them sound amazing.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fantastic line up of teachers. Your class would be one that I'd love and also the 15 Minutes to Sanity by Gina Armfield. Connie is so generous to giveaway a spot in this class.
ReplyDeleteSo many to like!!! BTW - Great pic of you. I think I need Diana Trout's "taming the critic" the most because I just need to get over myself.

ReplyDeleteticpen99@hotmail.com
This was so very hard to narrow down! But my top two would be Child's Play with Alma Stoller and Flow with Connie. Child's Play because I'm doing work with my own inner child; Flow because learning to be fearless and go with the flow is part of my intention for 2012 :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I love so many of the artists...but I would sure love to be able to:TAMING THE CRITIC with Diana Trout!
ReplyDeleteThere is no questions, hands down it yours, Wisdom Circles. I love the way you manipulate Twinks and your drawings. You are a very gifted artist. Holding my breath. ottingmom@aol.com
ReplyDeleteBlogged it and F/B'd it...GOOD LUCK EVERYONE...
ReplyDeletethanks for the opportunity! I have been unable to take classes since I lost my 30 year job due to prolonged illness! I did take the very first 21 secrets and this round looks amazing! Most of the classes are what i most want! some instructors I know from previous classes and others I just know from the art community. Your Mandala class is very intriguing. Love Mandalas:) Also, I have watched Christy Tomlinson and Connie Hozvicka and love them and the subject they are teaching. Also very interested in Dina Wakely, Julie Fei Fan Balzer, Kathryn Antyr and Traci Bunkers classes. It's not just the instructor it is also the subject. Thanks again :)
ReplyDeleteI think you know that my favorite (even though I've read the info on each and every artist) is you! I've followed every one of your blog entries! I'd love to learn more about you and your art so here I am entering mostly on that basis, although I'm sure the entire 21 will be an amazing learning process! Thanks for giving a spot away and I surely hope that I win!
ReplyDeleteSooo hard to pick! Just an amazing lineup, but, I"m totally diggin' Jane Davenport (in Draw Happy 1) and would love to get my hands on her Draw Happy 2! Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI must admit that I'm a suck up and you were the one I wanted to take a class with and then you announced you Mastering Twinks class so I signed up immediately. I also have been patiently waiting for Diana Trout to teach and online class. And, I haven't taken a class from Dina Wakely yet. Oh, who am I kidding! I'm addicted to classes on the interest. Got my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteAlternative Lives sounds really interesting... This entire series sounds awesome! I'd love to be able to participate! Good luck to everyone! Hobby

As much as I'm looking forward to your class "Wisdom Circles" the class which really speaks to me this year is 15 MINUTES TO SANITY from Gina Rossi Armfield
ReplyDeleteWell I am very excited to see Dina Wakely on the list of teachers... But also equally excited to see Diana Trout & Traci Bunkers names. Then I see samples of Dion's work on this blog and am blown away! So the complete line up of 2012 teachers looks amazing! Thanks for the opportunity to win a place... and Happy New Year!! xx
ReplyDeleteI shared on my Facebook page
ReplyDeleteThey all sound fabulous, but since Martha Lever got me started in art journaling and watercolor, I'd have to say that her class is at the top of my list.
ReplyDeleteI tweeted it! @mimsrachel email is mimsrachel@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteAlso...2nd entry, right? I don't really know who to choose because there are a whole lot of classes that sound awesome! I read your blog and Julie Fie-Fan Balzer's so it would be interesting to take classes from you guys! It would also be neat to learn bout all of those other artists!

ReplyDeletetopfloortreasures@live.co.uk
this is like trying to pick just one dessert from a fabulous dessert bar!!! I'm most intrigued by Alma Stoller's "Child's Play Workshop 2" as i frequently try to use low/no cost, simple art materials in my journals. I want to get back into art journaling this year so i know this would be so helpful. thanks for offering a give away!
ReplyDeleteChristy Tomlinson, The art of texture is my favorite!
ReplyDeletewell, first of all would be yours. I am just so in love with your art and style, I also really liked the idea of the art-body journal because of some personal challenges I am facing, but I have to say that they all sound very interesting.
ReplyDeleteOkay, and not because I am trying to suck up as some might say, but first would be yours. I love what you do with Twinks and I own a mess of them plus I like the idea of the class that your teaching. I have taken a class with Christy Tomlinson before and she is always high energy fun. And who doesn't love Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, I ask. So while it is hard to choose, I would still put yours on top.
ReplyDeleteI got a set of Twinkle H20's for Christmas (so glad you've featured these - I can't wait to use them!) I'd be so excited to learn from Christine Mason Miller, you, Julie Balzer. Ken Roberts' class title is really intriguing. Thanks so much for a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteOh man - you're makin this difficult! Your Wisdom Circles workshop...of course! :) ...and then Karin Bartimole's, The Art-Body Journal sounds like something I could benefit from taking...but they ALL sound wonderful. I've decided that I AM going to sign up for this but if you pick my name...so much the better. Thanks dear one.
ReplyDeleteI thgink I would most enjoy Dale Ann Potter's Personal Acts of Kindness. I know I would benefit from it. I need to learn to be kinder to myself. I would love to win this wonderful prize and appreciate the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteSince your being cruel, and making us pick one, I'll go with Christy Tomlinson. There are several on the list that I've taken a class with before, and know I can learn more from this time!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow - it looks wonderful!!! I'l love to see more of your mandalas and Julie Fei Fan Balzer's watercolors look intriquing. Oh, and the THE SHORT ATTENTION SPAN ART JOURNAL
ReplyDeleteKen Robert is right up my alley! I hope I get lucky!
I blogged about it here http://scatter50.blogspot.com/2012/01/21-secrets.html
ReplyDeleteI have been drooling over 21 Secrets since the first round at the playground and just haven't had a chance to take it up yet, but it's sooooo tempting!! I really do enjoy so many of the teacher's in this group, it's hard to choose, but I'd say my absolute favorite would by Aimee Dolich from Artsyville. I have followed her for almost 3 years now and count her as my first guide into this little world of art loving, craft grooving, amazing women (and a few men) blogging and painting and sharing their passion. It's really quite infectious isn't it? I so appreciate the opportunity to enter your giveaway and with you the best for 2012! my email is ecobatt at att dot net
ReplyDeleteSo many great teachers, but I absolutely love Christine Mason Miller and am looking forward to her class, but there are a lot of classes that have grabbed me and I want to do, so Christine wins by a sliver :).

ReplyDeleteJulie Fei-Fan Balzer.
thanks for giving us a chance at "winning" a space in this course. There is no way I could afford it other wise, so, although I am not a "lucky" person, I am really hoping it'll be me this time, please the powers that be...

Of course, I'd love to take your workshop. There were several others that caught my eye but if I must choose one it would be Intuitive Painted Layers by Dina Wakley.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be on top of our financial future and leave the debt demon behind so my obvious choice would be CREDIT CARD FLOWERS with Martha Lever.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to decide, I am totally interested in Julie Fei-Fan Balzer as I have read about her in magazines, but honestly the class about mandalas you, Dion, are teaching fits right in with the Mindfulness course I am beginning in January that probably ends right around the time this course begins in April.
ReplyDeleteDear Dion,
ReplyDeleteI posted about this giveaway today on my blog: fairisle37.blogspot.com. Thank you for the opportunity to win a place in the course. Sheryl Kessler
They all look so great, but probably Alma Stoller's class.

ReplyDeleteI've been having the time of my life trying to post this comment so this is my last try! Although all the teachers have their own magic, I would have to say that since discovering Dion about a week ago I've been fascinated by her style and would have to put her right on top of my list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great opportunity.

ReplyDeleteHi Dion, I just tweeted about this! @artjourney
ReplyDeleteI think my top choice would be Christy Tomlinson. I don't know the other participant artist but it would lovely to get to know them. Maybe if I make enough $$$ by April I can sign up. Then I also loooove your drawing. I don't love sparkle so Twinkling H2Os are not my thing, but watercolors and watercolor crayons are awesome! I am looking forward to seeing your mandalas, again not my thing, but I trust you are going to do awesome stuff.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great teachers but I would have to say Christy Tomlinson. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteThis class looks amazing, and what a deal! I'd love to join in the fun so please add me to your list and I'll be crossing my fingers.
ReplyDeleteI am torn between your class, which is about mandalas and I am fasinated by them and Kathryn's collage class, as I have followed her for some time now.
ReplyDeleteI posted on facebook. My email address is knottyneedle at gmail.com. keeping my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteOh that is a tough one. I have had my eye on this course, but have yet to sign up. Ok I would have to say Christine mason miller. ReplyDeleteI promise I'm not kissing up, but yours sounds amazing. I am very interested in mandalas and the meditation that arises from studying them. I'm also REALLY excited about Tracie Hanson's after watching her trailer video! Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to try intuitive painted layers by Dina Wakley. The idea of freeing the mind from any concept of finished products sounds so liberating. It surely will help me to know myself better especially the part that i never known before.

ReplyDeleteNot to be a suck up but I am very interested in your workshop, Dion. I’ve recently become interested in Buddhism and many of their religious traditions take a mandala form. I always like thinking of coming “full circle” in my life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great opportunity!
You can reach me at traci7891@yahoo.com
I have taken the last two 21 Secrets! I have so enjoyed the different artist personalities and getting to know the individuals who participate. It would be so hard to pick favorites. I am very excited that you are going to teach in this one. I love the way your images appear to be 3D and pop off the page. I love the idea of Diana Trout teaching her wonderful backgrounds she does. It will be fun to see what Dina Wakley will teach as I love her style. I am really happy that Dale Anne Potter is joining the teaching. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. I could go on but I will stop there! Sure hope to have a chance to win a spot in the new 21 Secrets!
ReplyDeleteMy email: tbeaudoin@inbox.com
I want to take your class the most... not because I am a suck up... ok maybe a bit of a suck up, but I want to see more of your secrets and tips.... it looks as though you are going to have a great teaching year.... how exciting...xx
ReplyDeleteWow, what a journey in the blog-o-sphere I've been on to land here.
ReplyDeleteArt journaling is my new love and this course coming up sounds great.
I find Connie H intoxicating, so I would love to learn more from her. I am also intrigued by what Ken Roberts is planning to teach. I definitely need help with journaling so Nolwenn's class will be a must. I could go on and on, there are so many great artists involved in this!!
on the off chance my # gets picked, my address is peggysw at triad dot rr dot com.
I definitely need to free myself from the thought of the finished product, so Intuitive Painted Layers by Dina Wakley sounds like the Rx for me. But I'm looking forward to all 21 adventures, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteThis was a tough choice! All of them sound really interesting. I think I could really benefit from Diana Trout's "Taming the Critic."

ReplyDeleteWould love to win this amazing course and pick a teacher OH that is hard! You would be my first choice as I know you and love your work!
ReplyDeleteI would be thrilled to take any (ideally all lol) but the one that jumped out at me is "Taming the Critic" with Diana Trout. Really this is the area that I struggle with on a regular basis and can stop me dead (not literally of course;))

OOOH! What a fabulous selection. You're killing me, do I really have to choose a favourite??? I refuse to play favourites. Of course your workshop will be amazing. FROLICAHOLIC (aka DRAW HAPPY 2) by Jane Davenport sounds like fun AND she's Australian, so I'll throw in some patriotism (plus I love drawing). I think I need THE PRACTICE OF SELF-AWARENESS THROUGH VISUAL JOURNALING by Traci Bunkers. Oh yes and FLOW by Connie Hozvicka because I'm always thinking about finding my 'style' (or not finding it). Ok, I'll stop there before I just list everything.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I would love to win! It is difficult to choose a favorite. Diana Trout or Christy Tomlinson? Of course I love your art as well, so many talented artists!
ReplyDeleteComing from a non-art journal world I would have to say you. I love your work! The other artists sound AMAZING! It's really an awesome price for that many artist too.

it so fabulous to take the classes from all 21 teachers. i have no favorites because God created all of us to be different, as a step closer to seeing God in all of His creations. it would be the ultimate boredom if we were all alike. to take those classes would be an expansion for my own personal growth towards "ALL THAT IS"
ReplyDeleteOh..I just want to create and learn from all. Each one has a special talent and I would love to delve deeper in to the various mediums and techniques.
ReplyDeleteI have taken 2011 21 secrets and hopping to be part of this edition also. I've learned a lot and I know I will too this year. So many great teachers listed.
ReplyDeleteWell I am partial to Christy Tomlinson but they ALL look amazing. I've been wanting to start art journaling for a while and didn't know where to start...I guess I'll start here!

Am currently only a voyeur of this art and amazed at the creativity out there. My first encounter on the web: Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's work, so I choose her.
ReplyDeletegottabead@hawaii.rr.com
I've dabbled in watercolors, but never left that Payne's Gray level, so Julie Fei-Fan Balzer is the artist I'm most excited to see in this fabulously priced group of workshops! Thank you for the opportunity to play with all 21 of these talented artists!
ReplyDeleteIf you have heard this once you have heard it 100 times...I cannot choose! It is really, really hard. But if I have to in order to win, I will just pick Aimee because she was first in the line up, her name starts with and A and she is the first person I started 'following' when I started here in blog land! Anyway, I don't REALLY have to choose, because if I win I get to learn from all 21! fingers crossed (and toes) thank you Dion for this chance to dream....

Each of the 21 Secrets workshops look amazing, each has its own secret to be shared and something to help us learn about ourselves and grow as an artist. How can I choose??? But if I must....your class sounds wonderful and Flow and Frolicaholic and 15 Minutes to Sanity and Credit Card Flowers....wait, I think I had better stop now or I might list them all! Thank you for the opportunity to win registration.

Wow! You are right that picking just one favorite from that line-up of 21 is very hard. I am very excited to learn from Dina Wakley. A few of my other faves are Christy Tomlinson, Diana Trout, and Traci bunkers. Thanks for the chance to win a spot.

Hard to pick just one. Excited to learn from all. Posted on my blog.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a hard pick, so many fun techniques to learn from this workshop. I would probably say Christy Tomlinson because I have just finished a workshop with her and loved it. I found her while I was doing the art journal love with connie so it is fun to see things come back around. Really looking forward to all the new teachers with this workshop.
ReplyDeleteangiemyers@me.com
They all look so juicy! The one I look forward to the most is actually your Wisdom Circles. I have been wanting more instruction on creating mandalas for ages and your pull me in each time. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteJo
I would have to say that you are the one I would be most excited to learn from. :D I am a big fan of your work and since I cant afford to take your Twinks class, I would adore a free chance to learn from you! :D
ReplyDeletexolabajola@gmail.com
Oh wow, pick one you say! What a hard task! I think I will learn something from everyone but what will allow that to happen is if I can let go and go with the flow!!! So I would say Connie Hozvicka. Thank you 80)
